Sponsors, Partners and Donations

This is a plan for sponsors, partners and donations to the Ergo Foundation.

Sponsors

There's a difference between various levels of sponsors, even though the bar for each level has not been set in stone quite yet. A page such as /sponsors would list these various levels in order of importance. Possible project-level sponsorship levels could include;

  1. Platinum Sponsors
    In order to reach this level of project sponsorship, an organisation would require:
    1. to make a long-term commitment;
    2. to contribute to the project a large total sum of value;
    3. to be selfless (e.g. no asking anything in return).
  2. Gold Sponsors
    In order to reach this level of project sponsorship, an organisation would require:
    • to make a medium-to-long-term commitment;
    • to contribute to the project a large total sum of value;

    In return, a gold sponsor would obtain the following privileges;

    • discounts?
    • vouchers?
    • logo display / ...?

  3. Silver Sponsors
    In order to reach this level of project sponsorship, an organisation would require:
    • blabla

    About that other thing...

    • something else

  4. Bronze Sponsors

Example Sponsorship Opportunities

  • This would include co-location sponsors >= 10U in a (commercial) price-range of approx. 199,-/month
  • This would include hardware sponsors
    • A single computing node is, presumably, 2.000,- per 5 years per node minimum, judging from wholesale prices, which means, 400,- per year per node, 33,33 per month per node, 6 nodes to meet the bar of co-location sponsors).
  • Storage would cost approximately 10.000,- per 5 years for the chassis alone, could hold 24 disks, may let us grow organically, costs at least 2.800,- per 3 years per 24 2TB SATA disks;
    • Chassis costs translates to 166,67/month
    • 24 2TB SATA disks at 140,- a piece would translate to 77,78/month
    • Total price of storage (no discounts, maximum capacity, expensive/large model) 244,45/month
    • See for example CORAID
